The Department of Visual and Performing Arts at the University of South Carolina Aiken invites applications for a 12 month, Theatre Faculty/Executive Director for the Etherredge Center position at the rank of Associate Professor of Theatre to begin July 2018. The successful candidate will be responsible for implementing and monitoring the strategic plan and budget for the Etherredge Center, supervising and evaluating full and part time staff, advising B.A.F.A. majors and implementing curriculum, as well as planning and coordinating internal and external performance schedules and usage for the facility, including a six performance Cultural Series. The Theatre program seeks an artist/scholar with substantial directing or design credits, including both professional and university productions. Areas of specialization we are interested in include, but are not limited to, theatre management, costuming, theatre history, nonwestern theatre, devising, and new work development. Ability to direct productions a plus. The successful candidate will also have the opportunity to offer courses in their area of specialization. The teaching load is 2/2. Other responsibilities include providing service to the department, campus and community, participating in campus life and recruitment, and maintaining current scholarly/creative activities.

Required Education and Experience
Candidates must have a terminal degree in theatre (MFA preferred) and 5-7 years of college-level teaching experience. Must demonstrate experience in facility management. Must be successful in teaching, creative scholarship/research and service; have excellent communication skills.
